Our server was the sweetest and handled our large, loud and (unintentionally) demanding party with such grace and entertained our little ones each time she came by.

We were excited to try Capt'n Snappers during our vacation on the island but were sorely disappointed. The server was unprofessional and unfriendly There were only two or three other patrons when we first arrived so the lengthy wait for everything (except seating) was inexcusable. It did take several minutes for us to decide on our orders (party of four) but by the time we ordered there were still a small number of people in the dining area (the bar was completely empty). The gumbo was delicious but really! How long can it take to serve up two bowls of gumbo? The coleslaw sides came out quickly but sat on the table for 30 minutes before the entrees came out! Two of the sides didn't make it to the table until we were over half-way finished with our meals. All this time, the server would quickly walk by our table and mumble something to us like, " it's almost ready to come out" or "it just came off the grill". The food was good but not great. We felt like we were ripped off by the high prices (yes, I know we were on an island and most everything is higher there). I don't mind paying $75 for two people (no drinks by the way) IF the service is at least good and the food is great. We didn't get that at Capt'n Snappers. I don't plan a second trip.

The food here is absolutely delicious! You need to be patient because they don't cook until you order. But, the end result is wonderful fresh seafood cooked to perfection.

Seriously disappointing! Ate dinner here one night and the fried shrimp were amazing but corn on the cob was yuck. Went back a few days later and tried the Seafood Alfredo Pasta dish for $18.99. I was shocked when they brought it out. It was a bowl of shell pasta with a few tiny salad shrimp...TINY and some bad crab meat. I tried to eat it but the flavor was just so bland. The ingredients in this dish was at best a cost of $3 but I was charged $18.99. I didn't even eat it but the waitress didn't care. Both visits the service was equivalent to a bad McDonald's. Also couldn't help but notice just how filthy the place was. Clearly this place has no pride in their restaurant or the food they serve.

The trigger fish was excellent. Service was quick and server was very nice. The onion rings were mediocre and tasted like they were pre processed and not made from scratch at the restaurant. The dessert cheese cake was vastly overpriced for the tiny piece we were served for 6:00. The mark up on the tiny piece of cheesecake would have resulted in about a 15% or lower cost of goods. If you are going to charge that much for such a small piece, then you should at least serve a piece of real New York style cheesecake.

We waited over an hour for the food. Price is high for amount of food received. Waitress gave poor service. Ran out of drinks before meal was served and wasn't asked if we wanted refills. When our food was brought it was missing items and they were finally brought almost 15 minutes later. There were only three other tables occupied when we arrived and they only had one or two persons. There were no carry outs while we were there. Two waitresses were working. Obviously problems with cook staff as well

We will absolutely be back every year.
